TYPES OF
HAZARD/
EXPOSURE
ACUTE HAZARDS/
SYMPTOMS
PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible.
NO open flames. NO contact with oxidizing agents.
AFFF. Alcohol-resistant foam. Powder. Carbon dioxide. NO water.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion on contact with oxidizing agents.

In case of fire: keep cylinder cool by spraying with water.

EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS! AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN!

INHALATION Cough. Sore throat.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Burning sensation. Pain.
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
EYES Redness. Pain. Blurred vision.
Safety goggles, or face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
INGESTION Abdominal pain. Nausea. Sore throat. Vomiting.

Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place.
Fireproof. Separated from strong oxidants, food and feedstuffs.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
VISCOUS COLOURLESS LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
May explode on heating. The substance is a medium strong acid. Reacts violently with oxidants (for instance chromium trioxide) causing fire and explosion hazard. Reacts vigorously with bases causing heat and pressure rise hazard.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
TLV not established.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and through the skin, and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air will not or will only very slowly be reached on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
Corrosive. The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin, and the respiratory tract.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis. See Notes.
