EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! AVOID ALL CONTACT!

INHALATION Cough. Sore throat.
Ventilation (not if powder), local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness.
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
EYES Redness.
Safety spectacles, or face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
INGESTION Abdominal pain. Dizziness. Headache. Nausea. Vomiting.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Give plenty of water to drink. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Vacuum spilled material. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place (extra personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles).

ODOURLESS YELLOW CRYSTALS.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating at 848°C, producing toxic fumes of sulfur trioxide and nickel monoxide. The solution in water is a weak acid.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
TLV (as Ni): ppm; 0.1 mg/m3 (as TWA) (ACGIH 1993-1994).


ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. Repeated or prolonged inhalation exposure may cause asthma. Lungs may be affected by repeated or prolonged exposure to the aerosol. This substance is carcinogenic to humans. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes toxic effects upon human reproduction.

N O T E S
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is indicated. The symptoms of asthma often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Anyone who has shown symptoms of asthma due to this substance should avoid all further contact with this substance.
