EXPOSURE

INHALATION
Ventilation (not if powder), local exhaust, or breathing protection.

SKIN
Protective gloves.

EYES
Safety spectacles.

INGESTION
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Wash away remainder with plenty of water (extra personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles).
Separated from strong oxidants, acids, food and feedstuffs. Well closed.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.
For aqueous solution:
UN Hazard Class: 8

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS TO YELLOW CRYSTALS.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating or on contact with acids producing toxic fumes including sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and ammonia. Reacts violently with oxidants. Attacks many metals in presence of water at high concentration.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
TLV not established.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed, especially if powdered.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
PHYSICAL
PROPERTIES
Decomposes below boiling point at 150°C
Relative density (water = 1): 2.0
Solubility in water, g/100 ml at 10°C: 267
ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA

N O T E S
Mainly sold as aqueous solution. Insufficient data are available on the effect of this substance on human health, therefore utmost care must be taken.
